An “Air Force Brat,” Tedi Marsh was born in Montgomery, Alabama. You won't detect a hint of a Southern accent, however, because her parents moved the family to Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri and then onto Oneonta, New York, a mere day trip from NYC.
Performing is in her blood. She is the granddaughter of Leah Leon and Charles Garfield who were Vaudeville Performers in New York City. It is therefore, no surprise that Tedi was drawn to the stage at a very young age.
She blossomed as a young musician performing under the tutelage of her devoted pianist mother and the watchful eyes of her supportive father. When she was only a senior in high school, she was asked to sing with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York, in three years. Her academic career led her to the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, Massachusetts, coupled with a summer performance series at Saratoga Performance Center.
Her devotion to her husband and grown children continues to propel her vocal aspirations. She draws inspiration from family and supportive friends. Tedi is an avid runner, hiker, scuba diver and world wide traveler.
